Mompreneur, who me?
When I became a mother I looked at my baby and said to myself, “I want to be there for you, I want to be present in the moments that make you proud“.
Since starting LD Design Loft, people have become curious about my experience in this new business. I’ve been interviewed by University Design students, online coaches and it’s a subject during coffee chats with close friends.
I’m always so delighted to share my experience since it has been so positive. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no billionaire… well not yet ;). I’m still a work in progress and I will continue to be but I did want to share in hopes to inspire and possibly lead you to explore your own entrepreneurial journey.
I believe I had two big inspirations in starting my own business.
As expressed at the beginning, I wanted to build a business to create the flexibility of owning our time. I started thinking about the future more; to have the balance that our family needs.
The second reason was also about the future but it involved my personal growth. As a mother, I noticed that I also started getting too lost in my children’s world, I forgot that I still have more I can do. I had a desire to grow and learn and that my creativity needed nurturing.
Discover my story in this interview with Creative Entrepreneur and Mentor Elke Clarke. I speak to her about Zazzle Inc. and how I got started. Hit the play button below.
Zazzle has been a wonderful way of getting started in the world of online marketing.
I’ve gone into this business as a professional, and am treating my business as a pro, it’s important for me to do things right. Therefore, I sought out mentors through books, podcasts, and videos. We have so many resources in our disposal now and I’ve been so fortunate to find the right people that align with my values. In my path to learning, I’ve benefitted from the wisdom from so many such as Hilary Rushford, Chris Do, Marie Forleo, Roberto Blake, Amy Porterfield, Elke Clarke, Pat Flynn, and Jenna Kutcher.
I found that there are benefits to being connected to the right mentors, community, and education.
Elke Clarke and her daughter Jen, in particular, have nurtured my growth with their courses and mentoring. Their knowledge and experience with Zazzle have helped me work smarter and stay motivated.
Please feel free to share this with anyone who might find it helpful. Learn more about their programs here.
UPDATE: Since the first YOUTUBE interview, Elke and Jen’s has also done a follow-up feature on their PODCAST (episode 68) entitled “Mompreneurs who have built their Own Zazzle Success Stories.” You can have a listen to it on here. You can also read more about my journey by going to this more recent blog post.
(My segment starts at 23:00)
I continue to learn from Jen & Elke’s coaching, they are generous teachers who have a heart for their students. They offer a lot of useful and free content online but I do recommend their paid courses* to help guide you once you believe you’re ready.
They’ve fostered a positive community of designers that has help one another grow. I’m grateful to have met such wonderful people from all over the world to journey with.

Thanks Len for sharing this life experience. I discovered the importance of time freedom a little too late, I could have served more communities and not tied up to the traffic of the metro nor with the bandy clock.
I’ll see you on the top, it’s crowded down here!
Tito Nick
